Garryowen’s campaign to retain the ODM Munster Senior Challenge Cup remains on course after defeating a heroic Midleton 13-7 in the second round. On Saturday, old adversaries Shannon lie in wait in Coonagh, in a game that promises to deliver more of the thrilling drama we have come to expect when these sides meet. Having eased through a 53-10 encounter with Clonakilty in the second round, Shannon will be aiming to reclaim their stronghold on the title.
Dolphin and Highfield meet in an all Cork quarter final at Woodleigh Park on Saturday. Dolphin came through a dramatic second round clash with Young Munster with just a one point margin separating the teams at the final whistle. Highfield ended UCC’s title hopes with a 27-6 win in the second round.
Sunday’s Well host Old Crescent in Musgrave Park after their 32-18 second round victory over Waterpark. Old Crescent advanced at the expense of Nenagh Ormond in their thrilling second round game that finished up 29-23 in the Limerick’s side favour.
UL Bohemians welcome Cork Constitution to Annacotty after overcoming Bruff 24-12 in their second round tie.
