ODM Munster Senior Challenge Cup Final

HIGHFIELD v SHANNON

Saturday 29th December 2007

Musgrave Park

Kick off 2.30pm

Highfield and Shannon will contest the final of this year’s ODM Munster Senior Challenge Cup on Saturday. This final has all the ingredients for a classic cup final, with the underdogs Highfield ready to take on the might of Shannon who have 18 Munster Senior Cup titles under their belt and been the dominant force in this competition having won eight out of the last ten finals.

Shannon will look to reclaim the title they lost last season, and reaffirm their dominance in this competition. Highfield on the other hand last won the Munster Senior Cup in 1968, but will look to prove formidable adversaries having had comprehensive victories in their path to the final.

The final has an added dimension with two Shannon men at the helm in Highfield. Both Coach Geoff Moylan and Manager Donal Brennan have been part of successful AIB League and Senior Cup sides with Shannon, however they will be willing on the men from Woodleigh Park on Saturday.

Kick off at Musgrave Park on Saturday is 2.30pm

The Munster U20’s take on visitors USA U20’s at Young Munster RFC at 2.30pm on Saturday.
