All Ireland League Roundup

There were mixed fortunes for the Munster sides involved in the Energia Men’s All Ireland League play-offs with four sides wining and four losing.
Garryowen’s hopes of a quick return to the topflight ended at the Belfield Bowl after their 35-24 defeat by U.C.D. Garryowen who led 19-14 at half-time, were out played in the second half, as three converted tries proved the difference. Tom Ironside-Wickham, Pelle van der Bolder, Jonathan Byrne and Sean Morrissey were the Garryowen try scorers and Lachlan Stewart kicked two conversions.
U.C.C. kept their hopes of keeping their Division 1B status alive, following their 40-10 home win against Galway Corinthians. Evan Clarke, Ted O’Callaghan, Charlie O’Shea, Gene Kareem and Daniel McCarthy were among the College try scorers. O’Shea kicked five conversions.
U.C.C. will face Shannon in next week’s final following the Limerick side’s 34-22 home win against Dungannon. Oisin Minogue scored three of Shannon’s four tries, Jamie Gavin got the remainder of the scores with a try, four conversions and two penalties.
U.L. Bohemian qualified for the Division 2A play-off final after their 27-15 home win against Clogher Valley and will have home advantage against Sligo in next week’s decider. Liam Nellan, Killian Dineen, Jordan Mills and Darren Farrer were the try scorers for the Robins. Cian Casey kicked two conversions and a penalty.
Old Crescent were relegated to Division 2 South next season after their 16-10 home defeat by Sligo. Joe McEnery scored Crescent’s try and Jeff Williams converted and also added a penalty.
Clonmel defeated Dolphin 44-17 in the Division 2C semi-final at the Tipperary venue. Henry Buttimer and Freddie Davies each scored two tries for Clonmel and Luke Hogan got one. Josef O’Connor kicked five conversions and three penalties. Dolphin replied with tries from Sam Boyle, Craig O’Connell and Darragh Buckley and Hunter Yarrell added one conversion.
Bective Rangers will travel to Clonmel next season after their 21-13 home win against Thomond. Sam Birrane scored Thomond’s try and Evan Cusack kicked a conversion and two penalties.
