It is a Cork v Tipperary Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup Final, as Ennis claimed the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Plate title for the first time.
Holders Cork Constitution are through to the Junior Cup Final after they had to withstand a late challenge from Highfield at Woodleigh Park to book their place in the decider on a 29-26 scoreline.
Constitution raced into a 22-7 lead entering the final quarter, but late tries from Luke Kingston and Miah Cronin were not enough to get the home side back in the contest. Rory Byrne, Bruce Matthews, Ronan Byrd and Michael Cogan got a try each for the visitors. Aidan Moynihan kicked three conversions and a penalty. Cillian Buckley and Jack Murphy were the other try scorers for Highfield and Ronan O’Keeffe kicked three conversions.
Kilfeacle booked their place in the semi-final next week at home to Nenagh Ormond, after their 33-21win over Old Crescent at Takumi Park. Tom Fogarty, Killian Noonan, Bryan McLoughlin, Ricky Whitney and Muiri Lambe scored tries for Kilfeacle and Luke Heuston kicked four conversions.
In a thrilling Munster Junior Plate Final at Clanwilliam, in which the lead changed hands on eight occasions, Ennis claimed the victory on a 31-25 scoreline. Clonmel led 13-9 at the interval, but a strong final quarter in which Ennis took control saw them run out victors. Callum Barrett scored two tries for the Clare side and Brendan Keane got one. Dylan Kenny kicked four penalties and two conversions. Liam Maher, Sean McEntaggart, Alex Slattery and Aidan Russell scored tries for Clonmel, and Aidan Hickey kicked a penalty and a conversion.
To round off a great weekend for Kilfeacle, their second XV caused a major upset to defeat U.C.C. 36-22 in the final of the Munster Junior 2 League.
