Weekend Results And Roundup

U.L. Bohemian get back to winning ways in the Women’s All Ireland League as progress was made in some County competitions across the Province.

Trailing 12-10 at halftime, U.L. Bohs rallied to defeat Wicklow 27-24 at Ashtown Lane. Rebecca Reilly scored two tries for the winners, and Eilis Cahill, Alana McInerney, and Muirne Wall got one each. Kate Flannery kicked a conversion.

Ballincollig suffered another heavy defeat losing 78-0 away to champions Railway Union.

On the men’s club rugby front Mallow and Clonakilty will contest the Cork County Cup Final after semi-final wins.

Clonakilty defeated Old Christians 31-28 at Rathcooney. Cathal O’Regan, Aaron O’Donovan, and Kieran Howlin scored tries for Clon’ and Eoin Downey kicked two conversions and four penalties. Ryan O’Connell, Liam Carty, and Eoin Gallagher replied with tries for the home side and Conor Dolan added three penalties and two conversions.

Last year’s beaten finalists Mallow defeated Crosshaven 22-0.

Holders Ballincollig have qualified for the O’Neill Cup Final after they defeated Fermoy 31-22. Liam McGarry was the star for Ballincollig contributing two tries, three conversions and a penalty. Robbie McSweeney also scored a try, and they were also awarded a penalty try. Ben Twomey replied with a try, two conversions and a penalty for Fermoy. Jack Duggan and Eoin Lacey also added tries for Fermoy.

Tralee won the McElligott Cup defeating Killarney 29-22 in the final at Killarney. Mikey Lyne scored two tries for the winners and Ben Glavin and Cathal Kearney also added tries. Seamus Lyne kicked four conversions and a penalty.

Castleisland defeated Killorglin 29-22 to win the Galwey-Foley Cup. Darragh O’Shea, Jack Coffey, and Rob Lynch scored tries for Killorglin and Luke O’Shea added two conversions and a penalty.

Chorca Dhuibhne retained the McGillycuddy Cup with a 15-11 win over Listowel.
