Try-Lights | Munster Schools Junior Cup Round 2

Round 2 of the Munster Schools Junior Cup took place last week in addition to a replay in Round 2 of the Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup.

Last Wednesday, three games took place in the Munster Schools Junior Cup.

Rockwell College advanced to the quarter-finals thanks to a narrow 19-17 victory over Bandon Grammar School at Musgrave Park.

Later in the day, Christian Brothers College produced a very strong performance to beat Crescent College Comprehensive 53-5 at the same venue. CBC go direct to the semi-finals while Crescent will have another chance in the quarter-final stage next week.

On the same afternoon in Limerick, St. Munchin’s College booked their place in the quarter-final of the Munster Schools Junior Cup with a 32-5 win over Ardscoil Rís at Thomond Park.

On Thursday, Presentation Brothers College advanced to the semi-finals of the Munster Schools Junior Cup thanks to 18-0 victory over Castletroy College at Musgrave Park. PBC advance straight to the semi-finals while Castletroy will get another chance in the quarter-final which will take place next week.

In the Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup, Rockwell College and Ardscoil Rís met in Clanwilliam FC after the two sides produced a dramatic draw in Round 2 last month.

This time, Rockwell prevailed on a 10-3 score line as the Tipperary school booked their place in the quarter-finals where they will meet Bandon Grammar School which takes place on Thursday 10th February.
