Second Schools Senior Cup Semi on Sunday

29th February 2008 By Munster Rugby

After a pulsating semi final on Wednesday that saw the champions Presentation Brothers College bow out to Castletroy College in a thrilling display, all thoughts now turn to the second semi final on Sunday, which sees Glenstal Abbey School taking on Christian Brothers College in Clanwilliam.

2007/8 Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Senior Cup
Semi Final

Sunday 2nd March 2008
Glenstal Abbey School v Christian Brothers College
Clanwilliam RFC, 3pm

Having beaten Ardscoil Ris in the quarter final, last year’s beaten finalists Christian Brothers College will be hoping to secure a place in this year’s final and challenge for the title they last won in 2003.

Glenstal Abbey School came through the quarter finals with a hard fought win in injury time over Crescent College Comprehensive. Glenstal will be familiar with the Cork side as the two sides faced off in last year’s quarter final. CBC claimed a 13-6 win on that occasion. The semi final will no doubt see the Limerick side looking for amends and continue on their hunt for the Senior Cup title.

This year’s final will take place on St. Patrick’s Day at a Limerick venue yet to be confirmed.

Sunday’s semi final between Glenstal Abbey School and Christian Brothers College will be broadcast on Setanta on Monday at 6pm.
