Young Munster are the early pace setters in the Munster Community Series Conference 1 after two games were cancelled.

Young Munster demolished Old Crescent 54-7 at Rosbrien and in doing so they scored seven tries and were awarded a second half penalty try.

Evan Cusack scored one of the tries and landed six conversions. Other try scorers were Hugh Worthington (2) Mark O’Mara, Alan Kennedy, Alan Tynan, Aaron Hennessy.

Old Crescent’s try was scored by Jack O’Mahony which Ronan McKenna converted.

At the Mardyke UCC defeated Shannon 59-17 in a fast running game that produced twelve tries.

Brendan McSorley scored two tries for the Students and James Taylor, Cian Bohane, Louis Bruce, Ryan Murphy, Richard Thompson, Ron Hedderman and Killian Coghlan got one each. Taylor kicked five conversions and Cian Whooley added two. Darragh Oxley, Brian Bennett and Sean McCarthy replied with tries for Shannon and John O’Sullivan converted one.

The Garryowen v Cork Constitution and Cashel v Highfield were both cancelled.

In Conference 2 Nenagh Ormond recorded their second bonus point win defeating Midleton at the Towns Park 55-19. Nicky Irwin and Kevin O’Flaherty each scored two tries and Pat Scully, Evan Murphy, Peter Coman, Ruaidhri O’Brien and John Hayes got one each. Conor McMahon kicked four conversions and Nicky Irwin one. Midleton replied with two tries from Bryan Moore and one from Daniel Murphy. Stuart Lee converted two of the tries.

U.L. Bohemian opened their campaign with a 33-25 home win over Dolphin. Colin Madden scored two tries for the winners and Colin Ryan, Jamie McNamara and Darragh O’Gorman got one each. Harry Byrne kicked four conversions. Dolphin replied with tries from Alex Molloy, Andrew Dorgan and Alex Denby. Conor Flanagan kicked two conversions and 3 penalties.

A try from Kieran Bennett and a conversion and a penalty from Andy O’Byrne gave Bruff an early 10-0 lead. Tries either side of half time by Luke Hogan and Dave O’Gorman both converted by Aidan Hickey put the home side in front. Hickey added a penalty but a late Bruff try but the conversion was missed to deny the Limerick side a share of the spoils.
