Munster 10, Ulster 27.

Ulster made it two wins from two after a deserved victory over Munster in the Junior Interprovincial championship at Ennis and now will have a home tie against holders Leinster next week to decide the title.

Mistakes on several occasions especially close to the Ulster line proved costly for Munster as they pressed for scores.

The opening quarter was evenly contested, and Shane Airey put Munster ahead with a penalty on eighteen minutes.

Ulster’s response was swift as winger Killéne Thornton sprinted away to score the game’s first try. Eddie Keys converted for a 7-3 lead.

Thornton was in again two minutes before the interval for Ulster’s second try to give the visitors a 12-3 halftime lead.

10 minutes into the second half Munster winger Jake Madigan touched down, but the score was disallowed for a forward pass.

With the Munster scrum on top, the home side continued to bombard the Ulster line and were rewarded with a penalty try on 54 minutes, to leave two points between the sides.

The final quarter was all Ulster as Munster conceded needless penalties deep in their own half.

Keys added a penalty and tries from Aaron Playfair and Mihael Orr, along with a Keys conversion saw Ulster run out deserving winners.
