The finalists of several of the local competitions were decided this weekend.

Transfield Cup holders Garryowen, booked their place in the decider with a 28-21 home win over St. Mary’s.

Newcastle West will be their opponents in the final after their 32-31 away victory against Shannon.

Sunday’s Well and Kanturk will contest the final of the Cork County Cup.

The ‘Well defeated Mallow 29-27 at Virgin Media Park. The ‘Well led 15-12 at half time and had tries from Dylan Cooper, Terence Finoel, Emeka Asiegbu and two by Cormac Kelliher. Ciaran Maguire added two conversions. Sam Glynn replied with two tries for Mallow and Rhys Ellers and Darragh Carroll got one each. Barry Taylor kicked two conversions and a penalty.

Kanturk caused an upset with a 43-35 away win at Clonakilty. Eanna O’Mahony scored three tries for Kanturk and Andrew Vaughan, Stephan McAuliffe, Tadgh McSweeney and Conor O’Sullivan got one each. Paul O ‘Keeffe and McAuliffe each kicked two conversions. Clonakilty replied with two tries from Jim Twomey and one each from Dave Matthew, Ben Lovell and Luke McCarthy. Corredo Berti kicked five conversions.

Ballincollig will meet Muskerry in the final of the O’Neill Cup. Ballincollig defeated Fermoy 41-14. Evan Buckley and Ben Ahern were the Fermoy try scorers and Eoin Lacey converted both.

Muskerry defeated Charleville 47-17 at the North Cork venue. Dan Morrissey scored two tries for the winners, and Colm Heelan, Aodhan Cooke, Ivan Walsh, Callum Larkin and Evan Kelly got one each. Walsh kicked six conversions.

In the McElligott Cup Killarney continued their good run with a 27-8 home win against Castleisland. Padraig Talbot, Jack Donoghue, Adam Walsh and Gearoid Sugrue scored tries for Killarney. Sugrue and Donnchadh Grealy each kicked a conversion.

Tralee defeated Corca Dhuibhne 43-32. Stephen Turner (2), Cathal Kearney, Mikey Leen Vega, Bjorn-Destynee Nana, Cian de Jong were the Tralee try scorers. Turner kicked five conversions and a penalty.

Killorglin defeated Abbeyfeale 29-21. Stephen Cotter and Barry Sheehan each scored two tries for Killorglin and Cormac Doyl got one. Luke O’Shea added two conversions.
Kilfeacle reached the final of the Mansergh Cup with a 45-5 home win against Waterpark.
