Friday night’s All Ireland League produced home wins in the four Munster derby ties that were played.

Young Munster had a comprehensive win over city rivals Garryowen in a crucial Division 1A game at Tom Clifford Park running out 25-0 winners.

Two Shane Airey penalties had Young Munster in front and a try by skipper Alan Kennedy, also converted by Airey, gave the home side a 13-0 halftime lead.

Ger Slattery and replacement Finian Wycherley, the latter converted by Airey, ensured the bragging rights for the home side.

In Division 1B bottom side Dolphin caused a shock with a 12-9 home win over high flying U.C.C. at Irish Independent Park.

Barry Keeshan was Dolphin’s hero kicking two penalties and two drop goals. Peter Sylvester replied with two penalties and a drop goal for College.

It was heart break for Cashel at Nenagh as they came from 23-8 down at one stage to lead 29-23 until a try by Kevin O’Gorman converted by Clayton Stewart earned Nenagh a 30-29 victory in their Division 2A encounter.

John Hayes and Jamie McGarry were Nenagh’s other try scorers and Stewart converted both and also added three penalties.

Richard Moran and James Kendrick each scored two tries for Cashel and Daragh Lyons kicked three conversions and a penalty.

Old Crescent made it eleven wins out of eleven in Division 2B after their 40-19 home win over Sunday’s Well at Rosbrien.

With twenty minutes remaining it was 26-19 but a penalty try and a try and conversion by Ronan McKenna gave the home side the spoils.
