Domestic Season Review | Age-Grade Rugby

It has been another incredibly exciting season for age-grade rugby throughout the province.

Lets take a look back at the winners from 2025/26, highlighting the schools and clubs and that stood out this season.

Schools – Boys

Presentation Brothers College were this year’s Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup champions as they overcame Limerick side, St Munchin’s College, 51-3 in a rip-roaring final in Virgin Media Park.

The Munster Schools Boys Junior Cup made its way to Limerick this year as St. Munchin’s College defeated Christian Brothers College with a comprehensive final score of 26-5 in Thomond Park.

Crescent College Comprehensive took home the Munster Senior Plate while Castletroy College were winners of the Junior edition.

History was made in Kinsale Community School this season as they qualified for both the Senior and Junior Cups.

The McCarthy Cup A went to CBC as they overcame PBC, the B Cup then went to Kinsale Community School while the C Cup went to Carrigaline Community School.

Midelton CBS were this season’s winners of both the Mungret Cup and Shield

CBC retained the Barry Cup while St. Munchin’s College claimed the Kidney Cup title.

Bandon Grammar School took home the Bowen Shield while the Giles Shield went to Ardscoil Na Mara Tramore.

Crescent College Comprehensive got their hands on the Limerick City Senior Cup.

The Cleary Cup went to Abbey CBS, the O’Brien Cup was won by Patrician Academy Mallow and Pobalsoil Chorca Dhuibhne took home the O’Gorman Cup.

Schools – Girls

This year saw Clonakilty win a third Pinergy Munster Schools Girls Senior Cup title in a row as they defeated West Cork outfit Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai 52-14 in Virgin Media Park.

Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai were first time winners of the Munster Schools Girls Junior Cup this season as they defeated titleholders Sacred Heart Clonakilty 15-12 in Virgin Media Park.

Clubs – Boys

Bandon went back-to-back in this year’s Munster Clubs Boys U18.5 Cup as they defeated Waterpark 38-34 in an end-to-end final.

Just a single point secured the silverware for East Cork side Midleton in the Munster Clubs Boys U16 Cup as they defeated Nenagh Ormond 21-20.

Elsewhere in Munster Crosshaven-Cork Constitution won the U18 Plate and Ballincollig the U18 Development Cup.

Kanturk were U16 Plate winners and Skibbereen took the U16 Development Cup.

Clubs – Girls

The amalgamated Kerry outfit of Killarney-Iveragh-Killorglin-Listowel took home this season’s Munster Girls U18.5 Cup, while Clonakilty retained the U18.5 league title.

Richmond-Scarrif took the spoils in the Munster Girls U16 Cup final where they defeated Clonakilty 10-17.

While the West Cork outfit retained their league title as they defeated Richmond-Scariff in the final.

Elsewhere in Munster, Garryowen won the U18.5 plate while Kilrush were winners of the U18.5 Development Cup.

At U16 level Fethard and District won the Plate while Tralee were Development Cup winners.

This season also saw the return of the Zara Horan Trophy competition which was won by new additions West Cork.
