Club Notes | Thrilling U9 Rugby Festival Held In Clonmel RFC

Clonmel RFC U9s

Clonmel RFC hosted its second edition of their exciting “U9 Spirt of Rugby Festival” on Sunday 19th April.

Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural event, this year was even bigger. The event attracted 520 young players who brought energy and enthusiasm with 48 teams participating from across Munster and Leinster showcasing the best of youth rugby.

The festival enjoyed perfect weather, with sunny skies creating a festive atmosphere that energized players and spectators alike.

Young athletes demonstrated remarkable skills, impressing everyone with their speed, agility, tackling, and passing abilities.

The event’s success was largely due to the unwavering support of Clonmel RFC’s dedicated volunteers. Their hard work and commitment were essential in making the festival a memorable experience for everyone involved. A sincere thank you to each volunteer for their invaluable contributions.

We also extend our gratitude to our generous sponsors, including Clonmel Credit Union, ABP, Tom Skinnys, Clonmel Waste, Fire and Feast Catering, Tesco, Fenton Precision Engineering, O’Donnells Crisps and The Crescent Shop. Special thanks to Michael Kearney for cooking delicious burgers that kept everyone fuelled throughout the day.

This U9 rugby festival not only highlighted the talents of our young players but also strengthened the community spirit within the rugby family. We look forward to many more events that celebrate the passion and talent of youth rugby!
