Clonmel made a winning start to their All Ireland Provincial Leagues campaign as Ennis edged out Dunmanway in a thrilling Munster Junior Bowl Final.

Clonmel are top of the All Ireland Provincial League after the first series of games after their 31-21 home bonus point win over Connacht champions Connemara.

It was a thrilling game at Clonmel a penalty from Dylan Cadogan saw the Munster champion’s trail 14-3 at half time.

Tries from Niall Campion and Luke Hogan both converted by Cadogan saw Clonmel go ahead 20-14 but a third converted try by Connemara edged them in front. Clonmel finished strongly with tries from Shay Vandam and Alex Sheehan both converted by Cadogan to give them maximum points.

Enniscorthy defeated Instonians 27-12 in Belfast and the Wexford side host Clonmel next Saturday in a top of the table clash.

Two tries in the final five minutes from Mikey Lyons and Adam Ryan saw Ennis defeat Dunmanway at Charleville 26-24 to win the Munster Junior Bowl. Ennis led 16-9 at half time with tries from Mark Taylor and Niall O’Loughlin with Ronan O’Halloran and Sean Hayes each kicking a penalty.
