Weekend Results & Round Up

There was mixed joy for the Munster Clubs in the opening round of the All Ireland Junior Cup as both Clonmel and Waterpark advanced to the quarter-finals.

Clonmel travelled to Galway and defeated Creggs 36-24. The visitors led 26-17 at half time. Dylan Cadogan scored two tries and three conversions and Luke Hogan, Shay Vandam, Gareth Mulcahy and Greg Carroll also scored tries.

Waterpark booked their place in the last eight with a 37-7 home win over Carrigfergus. Alex Molloy was the Waterpark hero scoring three tries and Paddy Kiersey got one. Glenn Kavanagh converted all four tries and kicked three penalties.

Richmond despite leading 18-10 at home to Enniscorthy at half time lost 32-18.

Keelan Stephenson, Brian Mullins and Sean Considine scored tries for Richmond and Mullins added a penalty.

Kilfeacle lost away to Wicklow 52-3 with Brodie Flannery kicking a penalty for the Tipperary side.

The quarter final draw will be announced on Monday 29th October and the games are scheduled for 10th November.

Sunday’s Well retained the O’Sullivan (Muskerry) Cup with a 40-34 win over Muskerry in a thrilling final. Niall Horgan, Daniel Horgan, Paul Boyling, Donovan Gee, Paddy Hughes and Gary O’Sullivan scored tries for the ‘Well and Niall Horgan kicked five conversions.

Shane O’Riordan scored three tries for Muskerry and Cian Ahern and Brian McCarthy got one each. Aaron O’Sullivan kicked three conversions and a penalty.

St. Senan’s defeated Ennis 22-13 in the Gleeson League. Darragh McCoy scored two tries for Senan’s and Chris Sloan and Jason McMahon got one each. Jake Egan kicked a conversion.
