PBC and Castletroy Prepare for Contest

The final of the Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Junior Cup takes place on Wednesday, with Presentation Brothers College and Castletroy College set to do battle after months of what proved to be a hard fought and hugely entertaining competition.

Defending champions Presentation Brothers College Junior Cup team will be hoping to hold onto their title after ousting Crescent College Comprehensive by just one point at Garryowen last week in the semi final. On the campaign trail, PBC have enjoyed wins over St. Munchin’s College and Ardscoil Ris, with only 60 minutes now separating them from the title.

It has been an incredible season for Castletroy College, who compete in both the Junior Cup and Senior Cup finals in the space of five days. A gutsy performance against Christian Brothers College last week was enough to see them through to Wednesday’s final. Castletroy College defeated Crescent in the first round, and had a narrow 10-8 victory over St. Munchin’s in the second round.
