The Munster Schools Girls Junior Cup final kicks off this Friday in Virgin Media Park where Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai will face fellow West Cork counterparts Sacred Heart Clonakilty in a repeat of last year’s final.
Colaiste Pobail started off their cup campaign against Ursuline Thurles where they recorded a comprehensive 31-0 win.
They then faced Colaiste Muire Ennis and once again came away as winners with a final score of 5-31.
A trip to Cork City was next on the cards for the West Cork side as they faced St. Marys Secondary School Mallow in wild and windy conditions in CBC’s grounds at the top of Patrick’s Hill. Here they once again came out on top as the game ended 5-45.
They will now face last year’s champions, Sacred Heart Clonakilty, in the final.
Sacred Heart kicked off their title defence with a bye through the first round.
They’d then go on to face Kerry side Coláiste na Sceilge in Round Two where they ran out 7-30 winners.
This then set them up in a Semi Final pairing with Ardscoil Mhuire which they won comfortably with a final score of 7-30, punching their ticket to yet another final.
The Munster Schools Girls Junior Cup Final will kick off at 1pm this Friday, April 24th, in Virgin Media Park. Tickets will be available to purchase at the gate on the day of the game.
