Munster Junior Team Named For Interpro Opener

The Munster Junior team has been named for the IRFU Junior Men’s Interprovincial Series Round 1 clash with Connacht on Saturday in Tuam RFC (KO 2.30pm).

The overall squad was named earlier this week and Munster will be looking to defend their title having won the 2022 edition last year.

Waterpark RFC’s Noel Roche will captain the side from loosehead prop and Newcastle West’s Shane Airey, who starts at out-half, is vice-captain.

The coaching team for the Munster Juniors include Geoff Kenny as head coach and Robbie Doyle as backs coach. Tony Daly will act as team manager with Mike Calnan, James Neville and Christy McNamara as selectors. Paul McCarthy will be the squad’s physiotherapist.

After this weekend’s game, Munster will take on Ulster in Inishowen RFC on Saturday, May 6th before welcoming Leinster to Waterford City RFC in the final round on Saturday May 13th.
