Clonakilty 10 – 17 Richmond-Scariff
The meeting between West Cork outfit Clonakilty and the amalgamated Richmond-Scariff got proceedings underway for the inaugural combined Munster Clubs Age-Grade Cup Finals Day.
Richmond-Scariff were first to get a score on the board as Sadhbh Whelan crashed over after 26 minutes of end-to-end action. Out-half Eden Waters added the extras to put seven points between the sides just before half time.
Clonakilty responded early on in the second half as outside centre Ella Haughney sniped in in the corner off the back of a ruck.
The Limerick-Clare got themselves back on the board as Ava Duggan ran in for an unconverted try.
But Clonakilty bit back as Jenny O’Donnell touched down in the 48th minute.
Richmond-Scariff got the final say as captain Eden Waters dove over in the final minutes of the game to secure the title for the side with a final score of 10-17.

Munster Clubs Boys U16 Cup Final
Midleton 21 – 20 Nenagh Ormond
Midleton secured silverware in the second game of the afternoon as they defeated Tipperary side Nenagh Ormond in the Under 16 Cup Final.
Nenagh were first to strike as Ben Madden ran in after 13 minutes.
Midleton got themselves on the bord just before the half time whistle with a penalty from the boot of Sam Morris to make the score 3-5 at the whistle.
The East Cork were in the green early on in the second half as Darragh Tobin sold the dummy pass and sniped in over the line.
Nenagh were back on the board in the 35th minute as Oisin Higgins ran in to bring the score to 8-10 in the Tipperary sides favour.
A penalty for Midleton just three minutes later put the East Cork natives ahead once again.
They added to their tally in the 42nd minute after a chip through from Morris was regathered by Carthach O’Laoire who ran in and touched down under the posts. Morris added the extras to bring the score to 18-10.
The Tipp natives got themselves back within touching difference with a penalty on the 50th minute to put just five points between the sides going into the last quarter.
Nenagh were over again just eight minutes later as Aron Griffin barrelled over the whitewash. Cody O’Connor added the extras to bring it to 18-20 as the clock ticked into the red.
But Midleton had the final say of the game as they were awarded a penalty deep into injury time. Morris sent the ball straight through the uprights, securing the win with a final score of 21-20.

Munster Clubs Girls U18.5 Final
Killarney-Iveragh-Killorglin-Listowel 38 – 7 Clonakilty
It was Killarney-Iveragh-Killorglin-Listowel’s day this afternoon as they defeated West Cork side, Clonakilty, 38-7 in an exciting repeat of the Munster Clubs League Final.
The Kerry amalgamation got early on as centre Cara Reilly ran in under the sticks. Eliza O’Sullivan lined up the kick and sent it right between the posts in a strong swirling breeze.
They were in again just minutes later as winger Mary Ellen McDonnell sprinted almost the length of the pitch to touch down in the corner.
Full back Keelin O’ Shea was next to cross the whitewash for a well worked try. Reilly broke the line originally but knew Clonakilty were hot on her tails. Taking a quick look to her left she spotted O’Shea tracking just behind her. A quick pop ball was all that was needed to send O’Shea in under the posts. O’Sullivan added the extras to bring the score to 19-0.
The forward pack earned their first try for Killarney-Iveragh-Killorglin-Listowel through Sara O’Connor as she crossed over in the 21st minute for another unconverted try.
The amalgamated side were over again with an intercepted try from Cara Reilly in the 28th minute with Eliza O’Sullivan adding the extras.
Clonakilty had the final say of the half as they ran in to secure their first points of the game through Elsa Quirke. Shona Fleming converted to bring the half time score to 31-7.
Killarney-Iveragh-Killorglin-Listowel got themselves back on the board in the second half as speedster Mary Ellen McDonnell added to her tally and went the length of the pitch. O’Sullivan followed with the conversion.
It was not to be for last season’s champions Clonakilty who put up a fantastic flight but it was not enough as the cup will now travel to Kerry after a dominate display from the West Munster amalgamation saw them take the win with a final score of 38-7.

Munster Clubs Boys U18.5 Cup Final
Bandon 38 – 34 Waterpark
Bandon were crowned Munster Clubs Boys U18.5 Cup champions for the second time in a row as they defeated Waterpark 38-34 in an end-to-end battle in Virgin Media Park.
Bandon were first to get points on the board as Nick Bourke touched down in the fourth minute, with Billy Canniffe adding the extras.
Waterpark struck back two minutes later as full back Oscar Flanagan ran in after a line break from outside centre Liam Walsh. Cillian Sheridan added the conversion, leveling the sides for the first time.
Bandon nudged themselves ahead in the 13th minute as Canniffe sliced the uprights with a penalty kick.
The West Cork side stretched their lead even further in the 25th minute as Mark Kelleher dove over off the back of a well set maul. Canniffe added the extras to give the side a 10 point cushion.
Waterpark stayed the course and were rewarded with a penalty in the 23rd minute as Bandon were caught offside. Sheridan stepped up to the task and added another three points to his tally for the day.
The narrow margin between the sides was a confidence boost for the East Munster outfit as out-half Edward Breen spotted space behind the Bandon defensive line. Taking his opportunity Breen chipped the ball over for Sheridan to regather in space. Liam Walsh tracked Sheridan on his run and was the perfect pop ball option to run in over the line for the sides second try of the game.
This brough the half time score to 17-15 in favour of Bandon.
Bandon were first to get points on the board in the second half as Louis O’Sullivan barreled over from short range. Canniffe added the extras to bring the score to 24-15.
Waterpark responded in the 44th minute as Sheridan touched down in the corner.
Bandon widen the gap once more ten minutes later as Gavin O’Shea broke the line before grubber kicking it to space for Cillian O’Flynn to regather and touch down. Canniffe added the extras.
Waterpark responded in the 59th minute after a tap penalty sent Daniel Groves over the whitewash. Oscar Flanagan converted to bring the score to 31-27 with ten minutes left to play.
Bandon were reduced to 14 as Daniel Hyde was sent to the bin.
Waterpark snatched this opportunity and set up a furious maul trundling towards the try line, allowing Kyle Staff Cantwell to touch down. Flanagan added the extras putting the Waterford outfit three points ahead with just minutes left on the clock.
Waterpark were the ones in the bad books next as replacement Ben Upton was sent to the bin for multiple infringements.
But it was reigning champions Bandon that had the final say as Bourke dove over the line in the corner in the last play of the game. Canniffe sliced the posts with his touchline conversion to bring the final score to 38-34. Sending the trophy back home with the West Cork side for the second year in a row.
