Munster Association Of Referees Host Successful New Referees Course

The Munster Association of Referees were delighted to host 17 aspiring referees in Highfield RFC last weekend for their yearly New Referees Course.

The day kicked off in the classroom as the new referees learnt all about the admin side of refereeing and how to best prepare for any games that they may take under their jurisdiction.

After lunch they moved to the pitch where they practiced their whistle tones, tested their knowledge on their referees signals and learnt how to position themselves properly during play.

We spoke to Provincial Referee Development Manager, Olly Hodges, after the course to learn more about the day, its importance and what he hopes the new referees will take away from it.
