Action from the South Munster U18 Cup final which saw Mallow defeat Bandon at Wilton - Colbert O'Sullivan

Munster Juniors lose away to Ulster as the domestic adult season in both North and South Munster comes to a close.

The Munster Junior side travelled to Randalstown to begin their defence of their Junior Interprovincial title but lost 20-3 to Ulster.

A try from Mitchell McCombe converted by Alan McCluggage gave Ulster a 7-3 half time lead.John Lillis kicked a penalty for Munster.

John Christies scored a second try for Ulster and McCluggage converted and added two penalties.

Bandon ended a thirty one year gap to win the Cork County Cup for a ninth time with a 34-8 win over Cobh Pirates in the final at Irish Independent Park.

The result flattered Bandon as Cobh battled to the finish but they were not as clinical as Bandonwhen scoring chances came their way.

Two penalties from Kerry Desmond to one by Ian Jones had Bandon 6-3 ahead after twenty minutes. Tries by Gearoid O’Leary and Christian Mulcahy both converted by Desmond had the West Cork side 20-3 in front at half time.

Cobh dominated the second half but their only reward was a try by Alan Langford as Bandon finished in style with tries from O’Leary and Desmond with Desmond and JP Lucey adding a conversion each.

Kinsale won the O’Neill Cup for the first time when they defeated Crosshaven 14-13 in a thrilling final at Irish Independent Park.

Indeed the result might have been different if Crosshaven had converted their many numerous scoring chances.
