Junior League semi-finals to go ahead next weekend.

Junior League semi-finals to go ahead next weekend.

The issues that have held up the Junior League in recent weeks have been resolved.

Following the results of two appeals heard by the Munster Branch last night, both semi-finals in the Heineken Munster Junior League will go ahead next weekend.

Top seed Cobh Pirates will play Clanwilliam and second seed Youghal will host Skibbereen. Both games will kick off at 2.30 and the rules that apply to Cup competitions in the Province will apply.

It was also decided that Crosshaven the holders will play in the Liam Fitzgerald Cup and Charleville will be involved in the Relegation Series.

For the likes of Youghal it is going to be a hectic finish to the season. They are involved in the AIB All Ireland Junior Cup, Junior League Play offs, Heineken Munster Junior Cup and also the final of the Junior Clubs Challenge Cup against Kanturk. If they were to win the Junior League then they would also be involved in the Round Robin series.

This could amount to fifteen games and does not include the Cork County Cup which is scheduled to start in April, so their season and other clubs could be playing rugby right up towards the end of May.
