The curtain comes down on the domestic season as Munster welcome Connacht to Castleisland for their final game of the Junior Interprovincial Series on Saturday. The Munster Junior Club’s Challenge Cup final is also down for decision between Bandon and Kilfeacle at Lansdowne on Friday evening.

In Saturday’s Junior Interprovincial Series tie, Munster and Connacht both go into the game level on points, with seven apiece. Connacht are ahead of Munster on scoring differences. A maximum points victory would see Munster crowned champions, if Ulster lose their game against Leinster at Lisburn.

On Friday evening Kilfeacle will be looking to collect their third piece of silverware to add to the Junior League and Garryowen Cup titles. They lock horns with Bandon in the Munster Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup decider at Lansdowne. The Tipperary side hold the record for the most titles in this competition, as they won the trophy in 1992, 1995, 2010 and 2017.

Bandon’s only triumph was in 2001. Kilfeacle’s run to the decider began with a 30-14 home win over Clonakilty in West Tipperary in January. This game also doubled up as a Munster Junior League game, where Kilfeacle claimed all points on offer. This was followed by an 18-13 victory over Sunday’s Well in the semi-finals at Virgin Media Park in March. Bandon defeated Kanturk 45-13 at Old Chapel in their opener in December. This was followed by a 30-23 victory over Richmond in Limerick in March’s semi-final.
