The Munster Junior League resumes after a two-week break with a full series of games in Divisions 1 and 2. There are also two re-scheduled games in Division 3 down for decision.
On Saturday evening in Division 1, Clonakilty, who share second place with Mallow, welcome Richmond to the Vale. The West Cork side defeated Thurles 21-16 in the Premier County last time out. Richmond also won their last game, running out 19-12 away winners over Thurles.
The game of the day on Sunday is the meeting of unbeaten leaders Kilfeacle and third-placed Kanturk in West Tipperary. Kilfeacle recorded a bonus point 27-17 away victory over Old Christians last time out. The Duhallow side go into the tie on the back of a 24-18 home win over Bandon, where they also claimed all points on offer.
Mallow, who are joint-second with Clonakilty, travel to West Cork to take on Bandon at Old Chapel. The North Cork side claimed maximum points from their last game, where they ran out 28-15 home winners over Muskerry. Bandon go into the tie on the back of a 24-18 defeat by Kanturk, where they claimed a losing bonus point.
Fourth -placed Sunday’s Well travel to Limerick, to take on St Mary’s, who are fifth, at MultiFlow Park. The Leesiders were held to a 20-20 draw by Kilfeacle in their last game in West Tipperary. They also claimed a bouns point, as they scored four tries. St Mary’s go into the tie on the back of a narrow 15-11 away win over Skibbereen.
Clanwilliam lock horns with Thurles in a Premier County derby in Tipperary Town. Clanwilliam recorded their first win of the campign last time out, defeating Newcastle West 38-27 in West Limerick, to claim all points on offer. Thurles were defeated 21-16 at home by Clonakilty in their last game, where they calimed a losing bonus point.
Second from bottom Skibbereen go in search of their first win, as they entertain Old Christians at the Carbery Showggrounds. The West Cork side claimed a losing bonus point form their last game, where they lost 15-11 at home to St Mary’s. Old Christians go into the tie on the back of a 27-17 home defeat by Kilfeacle.
Muskerry, who are propping up the table on three points, go head to head with Newcastle West at Ballyanly. The Sky Blues were defeated 28-15 by Mallow in North Cork last time out. The West Limerick side were defeated 38-27 at home by Clanwilliam, but claimed a bouns point, as they scored five tries.
In Division 2, leaders Waterpark, who have maximum points from their games to date, take on Youghal at the East Cork venue. The Suirsiders claimed all points on offer last time out, as they ran out 35-24 home winners over Ennis. Youghal are tied with St Senan’s, Charleville and Ennis in fourth place on 16 points. They go into the tie on the back of 34-3 maximum point victory over Abbeyfeale in West Limerick.
Second-placed Crosshaven are at home to Abbeyfeale, who are propping up the table with Fethard on a single point. The South Cork side claimed maximum points from their 31-13 away win over Carrick-on-Suir. The West Limeirck side go into the tie on the back of a 34-3 home defeat by Youghal.
Third-placed Kinsale make the relatively short trip to Tanner Park to take on Ballincollig, who are fifth. Kinsale recorded a 34-15 bonus point home win over Fethard in their last game. Ballincollig also claimed maximum points form ther last game, where they defeated Castleisland 43-17 in the Kingdom.
St Senan’s welcome Castleisland to Jimmy Slattery Park. The Clare side go into the tie on the back of a narrow 18-16 away win over Charleville. Castleisland were defeated 43-17 at home by Ballincollig.
Ennis welcome Fermoy, who are presently in mid-table, to the Banner County. Ennis go into the tie on the back of a 35-24 away defeat by Waterpark. The North Cork side recorded their first win of the campaign last time out as they recorded a narrow 16-13 home win over Cobh Pirates.
Cobh Pirates, who are five points adrift of the relegation places, entertain Charleville at the Paddacks. The Pirates returned form their 16-13 away defeat by Fermoy with a losing bonus point. Charleville also claimed a losing bouns point from their 18-16 home defeat by St Senan’s.
Basement side Fethard lock horns with near neighbours Carrick-on-Suir in a Premier County derby at Fethard Town Park. Fethard are rooted to the foot of the table with Abbeyfeale on a single point. Fethard were defeated 34-15 by Kinsale in South Cork last time out. Carrick-on-Suir, who are eight points clear of the relegation places, were defeated 41-13 at home by Crosshaven.
Tralee, who are fourth in Division 3, welcome Waterford City to the Kingdom. The Kerry side recorded a 44-12 bonus point away win over Galbally-Mitchelstown in County Limerick. The Suirsiders were defeated 17-7 at home by Douglas in their last game.
Bantry Bay, who are the only side without a win, entertain Killorglin. Bantry Bay claimed their only point to date from their narrow 12-11 defeat by Corca Dhuibhne in Tralee. Killorglin recorded their first win of the campaign last time out, defeating Dungarvan 14-12 in Mid Kerry.
The Munster Women’s Division 1 Cup final is down for decision as Bruff and Shannon go head to head at UL.
The game of the day in Division 2 of the Munster Women’s League is the top of the table clash between Ballincollig and UL Bohemian at Tanner Park. Both sides have maximum points from their games to date. Ballincollig defeated Roaring Water Bay 50-5 in Skibbereen last time out. The Limerick side put up 28 points without reply against Midleton at Annacotty.
Third-placed Mallow, who are also unbeaten on nine points, travel to East Cork, to take on Midleton. The North Cork side go into the tie on the back of a narrow 21-17 home win over Thurles. Midleton are seeking their first points following their 28-0 away defeat to UL Bohemian.
Thurles, who claimed their only point to date from their 21-17 defeat by Mallow in North Cork, welcome bottom side Roaring Water Bay to the Premier County. The West Cork side go into the tie on the back of a heavy 50-5 home defeat by Ballincollig.
