Munster Junior League Preview

The Munster Junior League resumes this weekend after a three-week break with a full programme of games across all three divisions.

The draw for the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup took place last night, click here for the full details.

Kinsale and Youghal get proceedings underway under lights on Saturday evening at the South Cork venue. Youghal are level on points with leaders Waterpark while Kinsale recorded successive victories in their last two games against Mallow and Tralee.

On Sunday, Division 1 leaders Clonmel will be expected to claim all points on offer from their home meeting with Muskerry, who are hovering above the drop zone.

Second-placed Newcastle West face a tough assignment as they travel to the Banner County to take on St Senan’s, who are in third place.

Clanwilliam welcome struggling Skibbereen to Tipperary Town, with the home side looking to keep their challenge for a top four finish intact.

Abbeyfeale and Cobh Pirates, who were both promoted last season, lock horns at the West Limerick venue. The home side will have their work cut out with the Pirates aiming for a top four finish.

Bandon welcome Galbally in a mid table clash at Old Chapel. These sides exited the All Ireland Junior Cup in recent weeks and are also aiming for top four finishes.

Clonakilty face a tough assignment as they travel to Limerick to take on Richmond and Old Christians, who are also without a win welcome Kilfeacle to Rathcooney.

In Division 2 Waterpark will be expected to get a result from their home meeting with Mallow, who are two places above the drop zone.

Fellow promotion challengers Waterford City are away to Ballincollig and Thurles travel to North Cork to take on struggling Charleville.

St Mary’s will be looking to keep their outside promotion hopes intact as they should have little difficulty in seeing off the challenge of Ennis at the Clare venue.

Crosshaven entertain Castleisland in a mid-table clash and bottom side Tralee are away to Presentation.

Division 3 leaders Killorglin will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run as they welcome Douglas-Carrigaline to Mid Kerry.

Dungarvan face a tough assignment as they host Fermoy and second-placed Mitchelstown are away to Fethard.

Killarney will be looking to make home advantage count in a bid to record their first win as they host Kingdom neighbours Chorca Dhuibhne.
