Only eight of the 19 scheduled games in the Munster Junior League survived storm Desmond

Only one game was played in Division 1, which saw Bandon defeat Old Christians at their Old Chapel ground 68-7 to move to within a point of leaders Clonmel.
Bandon scored ten tries and led 47-7 at half time.
Michael Beecher and Gearoid Crowley each scored two tries and Des Prendergast, Richard Walsh, Colin Jackson, Kieran Essex and Jerry Crowley got one each. Walsh kicked eight conversions and Chris Laidler one. Sam O’Connell was Old Christians try scorer and Sean Meany converted.

In Division Two Presentation were the only top side not to play and all the other four teams involved in the promotion race all won.

Leaders Abbeyfeale defeated Waterford City 23-8. Cian McCarthy and Michael Enright were Abbeyfeale’s try scorers and Steve Daly converted both and kicked three penalties. Sean O’Mahony replied with a try for Waterford and Michael Hayes added a penalty.

Kinsale, Cobh Pirates and Thurles all moved into second place eight points behind the leaders.

Cobh Pirates had the highest score of the day running in fourteen tries in their 82-0 home win over bottom side Dungarvan. Alan Langford got two tries and six conversions. The other try scorers were Kevin Allen (3), Jack Hickey, Dave Lamb, Martin Clifford, Dave McAuliffe, Shane Cullimore, Richie O’Sullivan, Arron Flynn, Brendan Mulcahy and Eoin McSweeney.

Mallow still searching for their first win of the season lost away to Thurles 43-14.
Shane Lanigan Ryan, Shane Moloney, Nicky Irwin, Peter Coman, Colm Skeehan and Luke Kelly all scored tries for the winners and Aidan Dwyer converted five of the tries and also added a penalty.
Mallow had tries from Timmy Fitzgerald and Hugh Barry and Luke O’Brien converted both.

Kinsale kept their recent run going with a hard earned 21-17 away win over Castleisland. Pat O’Regan, Joe Moriarty and Luke Kingston were try scorers for Kinsale and Sean Kingston converted all three.
Mick Cronin, Sean Nolan and Eric McSweeney scored tries for Castleisland and Willie Casey converted one.

Ennis got their first win of the campaign with a 22-6 home win over fellow strugglers Tralee. Conor Dolan, Sean Hayes and Tola Coote scored tries for the winners and Dolan kicked two conversions and a penalty. Ben O’Neill replied with two penalties for Tralee.

The big game in the Third Division was the meeting of the two only undefeated sides and victory went to leaders Youghal who defeated Fermoy 50-12.
Youghal led 31-0 at half time with tries from Scott O’Sullivan (2), Ross Desmond and Alan Frahill O’Connor. Keith McCarthy converted all four and also kicked a penalty.
In the second half the home side had further tries from Colin Mulcahy, Brendan Mackey and Dean Malone and McCarthy converted two.
James O’Driscoll and Daniel O’Brien replied with tries for Fermoy and Michael McSweeney converted one.

Killarney defeated Fethard 13-12 in the only other game played in this Division at the Tipperary venue.
Chris Myers scored a try for Killarney and Paudie Sheehan who was making his first appearance after a two year layoff due to injury, kicked a conversion and two penalties. Kevin Hayes and Conor Kavanagh replied with tries for Fethard and Kavanagh converted one.

Mitchelstown defeated Cobh Pirates 43-0 to preserve their unbeaten record in their section of the Junior 2 League South. Mark Kavanagh scored three tries, Owen Burke two and Fionn Herlihy one. Patrick Molloy kicked five conversions and a penalty.

Shandon overcame Mallow 18-5 at Whitechurch with tries from Brendan Murnane, Sean Keane and George Osborne, with the latter also kicking a penalty. Garvan O’Brien replied with a try for Mallow.
