Garryowen FC Host Coaching Workshop

Garryowen RFC recently hosted a regional coaching workshop with 20 club coaches in attendance from across the province.

The ‘Coaching the Cornerstones’ workshop introduced coaches to the key cornerstones through a series of presentations and practical sessions.

Munster Rugby Coach and Player Development Officer, Noel O’Meara, Rugby Development Officer, Gerry Casey, Women’s Rugby Development Officer, Amanda Greensmith and Rugby Development Skills Coach, Tom Fogarty, were all on hand during the session.

Club coaches observed Munster Rugby staff coaching the Munster U17 Development squad through games and reduced activities.

The objective of the workshop was to outline the cornerstone skills required for all players in open play, while also assist the coaches in their understanding and knowledge of how to coach such skills, and to provide coaches with cornerstone session plans.
