Excitement Building For Newcastle West Ahead Of All Ireland Junior Cup Semi-Final

Excitement is building for Newcastle West ahead of the All Ireland Junior Cup semi-final where they will face Clogher Valley on Saturday, December 17th (KO 2pm).

The County Limerick outfit secured their passage to the semi-finals with a dramatic, last-gasp victory against Ballyclare where they won out on a scoreline of 26-24. Ballyclare lost narrowly to Clogher Valley in last year’s decider.

Their reward for that quarter-final win is a home clash against Clogher Valley, who are the reigning All Ireland champions. Newcastle West, who won the Munster Junior League and Junior Clubs Challenge Cup last season, began their All Ireland Junior Cup campaign with a win over Connacht champions Connemara.

Newcastle West, who won the Munster Junior Club of the Year award last season, reached this stage last year but lost to next Saturday’s opponents. However, that match was played in County Tyrone and the Limerick side will relish the opportunity to welcome them to their home patch.
