11th Title For Munster Women

Munster Women, sponsored by Keanes, claimed their 11th Interprovincial title today in Thomond Park with a 15-7 win over Leinster.

Munster defended their championship title with an opening try from Leah Lyons in the 20th minute converted by Captain Niamh Briggs.

Leinster equalised just short of the break with a try from full-back Jeamie Deacon. Outhalf Nora Stapleton added the extras bringing the score to 7 a-piece at half time.

A Briggs penalty in the second half restored Munster's lead in what was a hard fought encounter.

The match clinching try also came courtesy of the Munster captain to claim a 15-7 victory and retain the Womens Interprovincial title.
