Did you know?

Having won away in Italy last time out, Munster’s next two games in the Guinness PRO14 are also away with the province’s final three PRO14 games this season all at home. See fixture details here.

Preview

With no Munster Guinness PRO14 fixtures scheduled for the first two weeks of February, Friday’s game provides a great opportunity for the squad to prepare for the business end of the season.

There are just five games remaining in the PRO14 as Munster and Friday’s opponents Connacht battle it out for top spot in Conference B and a place in the final against Leinster or Ulster on March 27.

Munster hold a 10-point lead with five games to go after Connacht’s bonus-point win away to Dragons last weekend.

There is also the conclusion of the Champions Cup following the temporary suspension of the competition last month.

Friday’s game will provide an opportunity for the Munster squad and Academy to get game-time under their belt. With no AIL rugby being played this season along with the postponement of the U20 Six Nations, the number of games being played has drastically reduced but Friday’s game should give an extended Munster squad a good run-out ahead of the season’s conclusion.

Teams

The teams will be named on Thursday.
