Munster In Front At Half time In The A Interpro

A Ronan O’Mahony try and two JJ Hanrahan penalties has Munster leading Leinster 11-9 at half-time in the A Interprovincial at Donnybrook.

Munster had the first scoring opportunity after five minutes when awarded a penalty that Hanrahan pulled left and wide. Awarded a second four minutes later from half way, Hanrahan found touch just inside the Leinster 22 at the end of the ensuing pressure. Johne Murphy had made good ground on the right at the Bective end, Munster went left and O’Mahony scored the opening try.

Noel Reid reduced the deficit with an 18th minute penalty and six minutes later edged Leinster in front with a penalty from just outside the 22.

Then, after a scintillating break by the Leinster out-half he took play deep into the Munster half and Reid was narrowly wide from distance with his penalty attempt but made no mistake shortly after with a tap over from in front of the Wesley posts. Hanrahan landed one from the ten metre line and then in injury time in the last action of the half, Leinster skipper Jack McGrath was binned and Hanrahan landed the kick to give Munster an 11-9 interval lead.
