Ulster Best In A Game

Ulster Best In A Game

Ulster exacted sweet revenge for the defeat earlier this month when they defeated Munster 10-6 in the A game at Temple Hill this afternoon

As the scoreline would suggest it was a fairly uninspiring encouter with Munster paying dearly for a litany of errors throughout.

Munster drew first blood with a Paul Warwick  penalty after 19 minutes and a second successful effort five minutes later had them six points ahead before Paul McKenzie crossed under the posts to leave out-half Kieran Hallett with an easy conversion.

Leading 7-6 at half-time Hallett missed a penalty opportunity twelve minutes after the restart. The visitors really should have had their second try when Munster failed to deal with a kick ahead, James Coughlan doing extremely well to prevent the score initially before Seamus Mallon knocked on in the process of touching down.
That period of Ulster pressure however ended with a Hallett drop-goal and with Munster continuing to add to their error count that single score of the half was enough to ensure an Ulster victory.
