Flannery Appeal Today
6th February 2008 By Munster Rugby
An independent Appeal Committee will be convened in Dublin today to hear the appeal by Jerry Flannery against the decision of an independent Disciplinary Committee.
That Disciplinary Committee found the Munster and Ireland hooker guilty of stamping on Clermont Auvergne flanker Julien Bonnaire and imposed an eight week suspension.
Also up for appeal today is the decision to impose an eight week suspension on Alexandre Audebert the Clermont Auvergne whose stamp on Ronan O’Gara resulted in the out-half requiring 20 stitches to his ear. Audebert was also cited in that game for punching Alan Quinlan.
