Meanwhile, Toyota Ireland has announced that it is to strengthen its support of Munster rugby by entering an agreement with the Munster Branch of IRFU for the naming rights of the West Stand at Thomond Park.

The West Stand will now be known as the Toyota Stand for the remainder of
the 2005 / 6 rugby season.

The first ever naming rights of the West Stand at the famous ‘fortress Thomond’ is additional support from Toyota as the official sponsor of the Munster senior provincial rugby team.

Steve Tormey, Marketing Director, Toyota Ireland said, “Toyota Ireland has been a proud supporter of Munster rugby since June 2004 and we are delighted to drive that investment forward with the Toyota Stand sponsorship. Thomond Park has hosted some of the greatest moments for Munster rugby down through the years and can boast a unique atmosphere on match day so it’s very special for the Toyota brand to have a dedicated stand in this great
stadium.”

Garrett Fitzgerald, Chief Executive, Munster Branch, IRFU said, “We warmly welcome
Toyota’s announcement that it is to sponsor the West Stand at Thomond Park. It is very satisfying for us to know that our team sponsor is committing itself to put further investment into Munster rugby. It is another strong supportive statement by Toyota Ireland and Munster looks forward to rewarding that vote of confidence with even greater success in the future by
our Munster teams.”
