Zara Horan Trophy Competition Returns
15th October 2025 By The Editor

The Zara Horan Cup competition returns later this month after a successful first season.
The competition is a regional based U18.5 competition created to further support the growth of the women’s player development pathway.
This season the competition will be played out amongst five teams, North Munster, South Munster, East Munster, West Munster and West Cork.
The first round of games will kick off on the 30th of October in Virgin Media Park and will run until February where the winner will be crowned.
Last season saw South Munster take the trophy as they won all four of their games with a full compliment of points.
The Horan family will be hosting a sponsored walk on the 2nd of November to raise vital funds for heart research and supporting young girls in rugby. The walk will start at the University of Limerick and end at Thomond Park, just in time to take in some of the action from round two of the competition.
