Thomond defeated Midleton in the All Ireland League as the weather decimated the Munster Junior League program.

Thomond have gone back to the top of Division 2C of the Energia All Ireland League, after their 31-17 bonus point win at home to Midleton. This result leaves Midleton facing a relegation battle over the coming weeks. The sides were level 17-17 at half time, but the Limerick side were dominant in the second half. Sam Birrane scored a hat trick of tries for Thomond and Colin Slater got their other try. Evan Cusack converted all four tries and also added a penalty. Midleton replied with tries from Jack Colbert and Dan Walsh, with Seamus Lyne converting both and also adding a penalty.

Only two games went ahead in Division 1 of the Munster Junior League as Sunday’s Well moved into third place, after their 17-7 home win over Old Christians. The ‘Well took the lead with a try from Mark Kelly and Jazz Pendejito converted. Daniel Kelleher brought Old Christians level with a try and Sam Haberlin converted. A penalty by Pendejito before half time and a conversion of a try by Michael McCarthy early in the second half secured the points for the home side.

Bandon eased their relegation worries with a convincing 48-7 home win against Thurles. Scott Kingston and James Collins O’Brien each scored two tries for Bandon and Tadhg Galvin, Kain Donnellan and Matthew Crowley got one each. Dan Coughlan kicked five conversions and a penalty. Sonny Dwyer replied with a try for Thurles and James Maher converted.

The top four sides in Division Two were all in action and all four sides won.

Leaders Crosshaven defeated Fermoy 41-3. Niall Deane scored two tries for the home side, and Mikey Collins. Jack O’Connell, Anthony Sheehan and Fionn O’Donovan all got one each. They were also awarded a penalty try and O’Connell kicked three conversions. Eoin Lacey replied with a penalty for Fermoy.

Kinsale retain second spot after their 36-28 home win against Carrick-on-Suir. Erhan Farley scored two tries for Kinsale, and David Looney, Sean Kingston, Ethan Griffin and Paul Graham got one each. Dylan Lacey added three conversions. Carrick’ replied with two tries from Jack Boylan and one by Braedon Wheeler. They were also awarded a penalty try. Fionn Barry, Wheler and Jack O’Loughlin each kicked a conversion.

Youghal moved up to third place, five points behind Kinsale after their 38-12 home win against Charleville. Oran Finn, Nathan O’Halloran, Bobby Nicholson (2), Rory Fitzgerald and Jordan Yellop were the Youghal try scorers. O’Halloran kicked four conversions. Charlie Collins replied with two tries for Charleville and Kian Smith added one conversion.

Waterpark travelled to Fethard and won 21-0 with two tries from Scott Nolan and one by Gary Walsh. Dermot Lannen kicked two conversions and Nicky O’Donoghue one.
