Holders Nenagh Ormond were knocked out of the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup, as the semi-final lineup sees two Limerick and two sides from Cork qualify.

A strong opening half saw Cork Constitution defeat holders Nenagh Ormond 35-13 at the North Tipperary venue. The visitors led 35-3 at half time with tries from Danny Sheahan, Rob Hedderman, Julian Royer, Matthew Bowen and Adam Maher. Darragh French converted all five tries. Conor McMahon kicked a penalty for Nenagh. The only scores of the second half were two tries for the Tipperary side from Luke Kerr.

In an exciting game at Woodleigh Park, Highfield defeated Young Munster 26-25, thanks to a last-minute try from Cillian Twomey, which Shane Buckley converted. James Cronin, Jamie Sheehan and Travis Coomy were Highfield’s other try scorers, two of which Buckley converted. Hubert Gilvarry, Oran O’Reilly and Jake O’Riordan replied with tries for Munsters and Kelvin Langan kicked two conversions and two penalties.

Garryowen defeated U.C.C. 27-12 at the Mardyke. Jordan Power scored a try to give the Light Blues a 5-0 interval lead. Joe Finn, Tom Ironside Wickham and Des Fitzgerald added further tries. Lachlan Stewart kicked two conversions and a penalty. The students replied with tries from Kamis Novak and Tom Coughlan and Charlie O’Shea kicked a conversion.

Shannon booked their semi-final spot with a 24-0 away win at Midleton. Harry Long and Matt Te Pou scored tries for Shannon, who were also awarded a penalty try. Cillian O’Connor converted both tries and also kicked a penalty.

In the Cyril Fitzgerald Plate, Bruff caused a surprise with a 16-14 away win against U.L. Bohemian at Annacotty.  Wiktor Wilczuk scored Bruff’s try, and Paul Collins converted and added three penalties. Darren Ferrar and Jack Ryan replied with tries for Bohs and Cian Casey converted both.

Clonmel were too strong for Cashel winning 29-24. Henry Buttimer and Freddie Davies scored tries for Clonmel and Josef O’Connor converted both and added five penalties.

In the other tie. Old Crescent defeated Dolphin 35-17 at Takumi Park. Jeff Williams, Daithi Byrnes, Stephen Kiely and Dan Hurley scored tries for Crescent, who were also awarded a penalty try. Williams kicked three conversions and Glen Kelly one.

Garryowen will face St. Mary’s in the final of the Transfield Cup. The Light Blues booked their final place with a 35-14 win against Shannon at Dooradoyle. Junior Okafor scored two tries for the winners and Dara Phelan and Sam Jordan got one each. Matthew Joyce kicked three penalties and three conversions. Scott Gleeson and Robbie Deegan replied with tries for Shannon and both were converted by Rory O’Gorman.

St. Mary’s edged out Old Crescent 25-25 at Takumi Park in the other semi.

Old Christians knocked out holders Mallow 35-29 in the semi-final of the Cork County Cup at Rathcooney. Ivan Tripp, Sammy Haberlin (2), Daryl Kelleher and Dave Allen were the Old Christians try scorers, and Haberlin converted all five tries.

Bandon will face Old Christians in the decider after their 29-5 home win against Skibbereen. James Collins O’Brien scored two tries for Bandon and Mark Slattery, Adam Hutchinson and Kain Donnellan got one each. Hugh O’Mahony kicked two conversions. Kieran Shannon scored a late consolation try for Skibb’.

Youghal have booked their place in the O’Neill Cup Final after their 23-12 home win against Ballincollig. Oran Finn and Scott O’Sullivan scored tries for Youghal and Nathan O’Halloran converted both and also added three penalties.

The must now await the winners of next week’s semi-final between Crosshaven and Kinsale.

Killarney won their section of the McElligott Cup with a 29-6 away win at Killorglin. Mikey Moriarty and Adam Walsh each scored two tries and Alex O’Leary got one. Harry Kelly kicked two conversions. Fionn O’Shea replied with two penalties for Killorglin.
