Over a relatively quiet weekend, the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup and Plate deciders take centre stage.
The second semi-final of the Martin O’Sullivan Cup takes place on Sunday and the Munster Women’s Open Cup quarter finals are also down for decision.
The game of the weekend sees Highfield going head to head with Shannon in the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup final at Temple Hill. The Limerick side are seeking their 20th triumph. They last won the trophy in the 2007/08 season, when they defeated Highfield in the decider at what was then Musgrave Park. Highfield are appearing in their first decider since the 2007/08 season.
They are also looking to win the trophy for the third time. Highfield’s only triumphs to date were in 1966 and 1968.
On Friday evening, Clonmel take on Old Crescent in the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Plate decider at Fethard Town Park.
The second semi-final of the Martin O’Sullivan Cup is down for decision as Killorglin lock horns with Tralee at the Mid Kerry venue. Killarney await the winners in the decider.
On Friday evening, Shannon take on UL Bohemian at Coonagh in the opening quarter final of the Munster Women’s Open Cup. The winners will be rewarded with home advantage in the semi-finals against Bruff or Mallow, who meet at Kilballyowen Park on Sunday.
Tralee welcome Thurles to the Kingdom. The winners will have a home semi-final tie against Dolphin or Sunday’s Well, who meet at Virgin Media Park.
