Weekend Fixtures and Preview

The Cork and Limerick Charity Cups semi finals will be decided this weekend as local competitions at Junior and Junior Two level get underway.

Garryowen play U.L. Bohemian at Dooradoyle with the visitors in a confident mood after their 40-17 win over Old Crescent in mid week. Holder’s Shannon travel to Clifford Park to face Young Munster in the other Limerick Charity Cup semi final.

In the Cork semi finals both visiting sides will be fancied to reach the final when Dolphin play Highfield at Woodleigh Park and Cork Constitution make the journey to Musgrave Park to face Sunday’s Well.

The Transfield Cup kicks off with five First Round ties down for decision. Holders U.L. Bohemian begin their defence with a trip to Bruff. Young Munster make the short journey to Rosbrien to face Old Crescent and Thomond are away to St. Mary’s.

Both West Limerick sides have home draws with Abbeyfeale entertaining Presentation and Richmond travel to Newcastle West.

In the Garryowen Cup; Newport follow up their surprising win over Cashel last week with a home tie against Galbally in the semi final while Kilfeacle play Thurles to decide who will play Clonmel in the other semi final.

Cashel play Nenagh Ormond in the opening game of the Mansergh Cup.

There are eight ties listed in the opening round of the Dennehy Cup. Holder’s Ballincollig begin their defence with a trip to Highfield. Kinsale who have moved up a level this season face a daunting task at home to Cork Constitution.
Bantry Bay make their first appearance in this competition and with a home draw against Crosshaven should advance. Bandon face Dunmanway in a West Cork derby and Clonakilty face a difficult task away to Dolphin.
Carrigaline play Douglas at Moneygourney. Sunday’s Well travel to Ballyanly where they will play Muskerry and Old Christians meet Cobh Pirtaes at Rathcooney.
