Training in the sun in Old Crescent RFC

Earlier this month the Munster Women’s squad headed to Old Crescent RFC for an open training session.

The aim of this session was to offer the young girls who played with the club a chance to not only see the team train in person but also get the opportunity to play and meet the team once the session finished.

We caught up with vice-captain Stephanie Nunan to learn more about the day.

“For the first hour and a half we trained ourselves and it was actually great because we got a few of the younger girls from Old Crescent out watching us, seeing what we are about and then for the last 20 minutes of the day Matt brought them in and they trained with us and did a few drills.

“For us to see how many young girls are actually taking part in the sport now is incredible and how many people are coming up through and sticking with the game is just absolutely unbelievable.”
