Highfield and Shannon will contest this season’s Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup Final, as U.L. Bohemian maintained their unbeaten run in the Women’s All Ireland League.
Shannon booked their place in the Senior Cup Final with a 16-10 win over Cork Constitution on the back pitch in Thomond Park. A try by Cian McCann and a conversion and two penalties by Jamie Gavin gave Shannon a 13-0 interval lead. With wind advantage in the second half Cork Constitution got back in the contest with a converted try. Gavin added his third penalty as Con’s only reply was a penalty.
At Dooradoyle, Highfield booked their place in the final with a 19-10 win over Garryowen. Two penalties from Shane Buckley gave Highfield a 6-5 half time lead. Des Fitzgerald scored Garryowen’s try. Buckley made sure of Highfield’s place in the decider with a try, conversion and two further penalties. Chulainn Williams scored a second try for Garryowen late in the game.
Old Crescent will face Clonmel in the final of the Bank of Ireland Senior Plate following their 27-19 win over Bruff in a game that was transferred to the UL4G pitch. Jeff Williams, Sean Monaghan, Jack Neilon. Alan Roche and John Hurley scored tries for Crescent and Williams added one conversion. Patricio Neuhen, John Bateman and Aidan Carroll replied with tries for Bruff and Paul Collins converted two of the tries.
In The Women’s All Ireland League. U.L. Bohemian recorded their fourteenth successive victory with an 89-0 win away to Cooke. Éabha Nic Dhonnacha scored three tries and seven conversions, Maddy Kushner also got three tries and Stephanie Nunan and Eilis Cahill got two each. Their other try scorers were Anais Jubin, Ciara McLoughlin, Claire Bennett, Lilly Brady and Chloe Pearse.
Ennis defeated Galwegians 26-17 with tries from Aoibhin Donnelly Rhona O’Dea, Caoifhionn Conway Morrissey and Lyndsay Clarke. Fódhla Ní Bhranain kicked three conversions.
Ballincollig lost away to Railway Union 82-7 with Vivienne O’Donnovan scoring the Ballincollig try and Emma Connolly converting.
