Semi Final line up complete in Avonmore Milk Schools Junior Cup

25th February 2010 By Munster Rugby

Two upsets in the last remaining quarter final ties in the Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Junior Cup as both Glenstal Abbey and Ard Scoil Ris knock out St. Munchin’s and Castletroy College.

St. Munchin’s 0, Glenstal Abbey 6.
A shock at Tom Clifford Park, when Glenstal Abbey School booked their place in the semi final of the Avonmore Milk Schools Junior Cup with a hard earned victory over last season’s beaten finalists.

The sides were scoreless at half time in what was very tense affair with both packs canceling each other out.

The second half saw Kevin O’Keeffe putting Glenstal ahead on thirty five minutes with a penalty after missing three efforts in the opening half.

Munchin’s were never allowed to dominate and Glenstal were very disciplined and did not conceded any kickable penalties. Munchin’s knocked on or lost control of the ball when they got into attacking positions.

O’Keeffe extended his side’s lead with a second penalty ten minutes from time and they than had to finish the game with only thirteen players as two Glenstal players were yellow carded.
