Kilfeacle took another big step towards reclaiming the Munster Junior League title, as Kinsale moved a step closer to promotion from Division 2 and Killarney are assured of promotion from the Third Division.

Kilfeacle saw off another of their title challengers with a 30-14 home win over Clonakilty, in a game that was transferred to Rockwell School grounds. Bob Purcell, Jacques van Wyndgardt, Jamie Heuston and Gavin Heuston scored tries for Kilfeacle and Luke Heuston kicked two conversions and two penalties. Matt McCarthy and Tobi Oliver replied with tries for Clonakilty and Niall Barrett and Luke McCarthy each kicked a conversion.

Mallow moved into second place after their 21-14 away win against Sunday’s Well. Michael O’Callaghan and Daniel Lucey scored tries for Mallow and Riley Harrison kicked three penalties and a conversion. The Well replied with tries from Alex Guerin and David Grace. Jazz Pendejito and Ciarán O’Connor each kicked a conversion.

Kanturk and Richmond kept their hopes of a top four finish alive with away victories.

Kanturk travelled to Rathcooney and defeated Old Christians 34-32. Niall Twomey scored two of Kanturk’s five tries, with Conor O’Sullivan, Stephen McAuliffe and Sean O’Brien getting one each. Paul O’Keeffe kicked three conversions and a penalty. Old Christians replied with two tries from Dan Kelleher and Sam Loftus and Dave Ahern got one each. Sam Haberlin kicked three conversions and two penalties.

A last minute try by Brian Mullins converted by Shane Purcell earned Richmond a 19-18 away win against Muskerry. Dylan Cotter and Ryan Meagher were Richmond’s other try scorers and Purcell converted one of those tries. Rob Cahill and Ryan Spillane replied with tries for Muskerry and Cahill kicked a conversion and two penalties.

Skibbereen won the big relegation battle that produced twelve tries at the West Cork venue, defeating Thurles 45-34. The Tipperary side made a great start racing into a 17-0 lead, after twenty-five minutes. Chris and Jonathan Benn each scored two tries for Skibb’ and Ciaran Coombes, Tom Beare and James Williams got one apiece. David Shannon kicked five conversions. Thurles replied with tries from Sonny Dwyer, Sean McGrath, Seamus Houlihan, James Butler and Jock Fogarty. James Maher kicked three conversions and a penalty.

Bandon edged out Clanwilliam 22-19. Olan Crowley, Mark Bateman and Tadhg Galvin scored tries for Bandon and Dan Coughlan added two conversions and a penalty. David O’Brien, Ciaran O’Donnell and Niall Leahy were the Clanwilliam try scorer and Leahy kicked two conversions.

St. Mary’s defeated Newcastle West 27-25 at MultiFlow Park, with tries from Shane Mullaly, James McCarthy and James O’Brien. Adam Guerin kicked three conversions and two penalties. James Corbett, Sean Murphy and Keelan Stephenson replied with tries for the visitors and James Guinea kicked two conversions and three penalties.

In Division Two, leaders Crosshaven, Ballincollig and Fethard’s games were postponed and this allowed Kinsale take over top spot after their 46-7 home win against Waterpark. Robin O’Flynn scored two of Kinsale’s seven tries, with Tom Good, Cillian Fitzpatrick, James O’Donovan, Erhan Farley and Conall Gilleran being the other try scorers. Dylan Lacey kicked four conversions and a penalty. Waterpark’s reply was a penalty try.

Cobh Pirates defeated Youghal 24-17 in an East Cork derby tie at Youghal. Cillian MacCoitir and Saul Kahn scored tries for the Pirates and Mike White kicked four penalties and one conversion. Rory Walsh replied with two tries for Youghal and they were also awarded a penalty try.

Ennis defeated Castleisland 21-13 with tries from Colm Kileen, Conor Morrissey and Cian Guilfoyle, along with three conversions from Dylan Kenny. William Casey and Darren O’Donovan Brosnan replied with tries for the Kerry side and Joe Sheehy kicked a penalty.

Carrick-on-Suir defeated bottom side Abbeyfeale 29-22 in a game that was transferred to the High School CBS pitch in Clonmel. Jack Boylan (2), Matthew Toole, Cian Walsh and Andrew Bulger scored tries for Carrick’ and Braedon Wheeler added two conversions. Abbeyfeale replied with two tries from James Kelly and one by David Murphy. Caoimhin Barron kicked two conversions and a penalty.

Killarney’s seventh bonus point victory in Division Three, has guaranteed them promotion after their 57-19 home win against Corca Dhuibhne. Padraig Talbot, John McCarthy, Liam Randles, Diarmuid Carr (2), Alex O’Leary, Stephen Walsh, Harry Kelly and Paul Moynihan were the Killarney try scorers. Kelly kicked four conversions and Ciarán O’Brien two. Michael Breathnach scored two tries for the Gaeltacht side and Eoin Ó Súilleabháin got one. Tip Delaney kicked two conversions.

Tries from Jamie O’Leary and Cormac Doyle, both converted by Luke O’Shea earned Killorglin a 14-8 away win against Waterford City.

Scariff kept their promotion hopes alive with a 24-19 home win against Dungarvan. Sean Tracy and Martin Daly each scored two tries for the Clare side, and Alex Boblea kicked two conversions. Ricky Lopez and Seamus Keating replied with tries for Dungarvan, who were also awarded a penalty try. Keating kicked one conversion.

Galbally-Mitchelstown continued their recent revival with an 18-17 home win against Douglas. David Norris scored two tries for the winners and Graham Bourke added a try and two conversions. Matthew Sibanyoni and Patrick Carey replied with tries for Douglas and Carey kicked two conversions and a penalty.
