Neville & Murphy Take Charge Of 6 Nations Encounters

Former Munster and Ireland No. 8 Joy Neville will officiate her first Women’s Six Nations International game this weekend as she takes charge of Wales Women versus Italy Women on Sunday afternoon.

Neville, who won 70 caps for the Irish Women's team is in her third season of refereeing and is quickly rising through the ranks.

Speaking on Joy's appointment, David McHugh, IRFU Referee Performance Manager said "This is a huge achievement for Joy who follows in the footsteps of Ham Lambert and Alain Rolland in representing her country both as a player and as a referee at international level”

Similarly, former Munster and Ireland A international scrum-half Frank Murphy is also continuing his steady progression as a referee as he will officiate the U20 Six Nations game between Wales and Italy on Friday.

As well as these former internationals in action, there are a host of IRFU officials in action across the weekend.

This evening, Richard Hogan will referee the Ulster Bank League Division 2B game between Bective Rangers and Seapoint in Donnybrook.

On Friday, the Ireland Clubs take on Scotland Clubs in Cork Con and the assistant referees in Temple Hill will be Munster’s Eddie Hogan-O'Connell and Rob O'Sullivan.

Frank Murphy will be assisted at the Wales versus Italy U20 fixture by Munster’s Kieran Barry and Brian MacNeice, with Kevin Beggs providing TMO.

In the Guinness Pro12, David Wilkinson takes charge of Cardiff Blues against Munster and Munster’s George Clancy will referee Glasgow versus Leinster.

On Saturday in the Aviva Stadium, Munster’s Andy Brace and Nigel Correll will be 4th and 5th officials for Ireland's final game against Scotland.

While in Paris, Munster’s John Lacey will be assistant referee at the Stade de France when the French welcome England in the RBS Six Nations.
