Munster Rugby and IRFU Fitness Workshop

The I.R.F.U. and Munster Rugby in conjunction with Setanta College are delighted to announce that a fitness workshop will be held in the Charleville Park Hotel on Wednesday, 24th of February.

The workshop will be aimed at coaches working at all levels in all sports and include the following topics:-

Topic 1 Improving Function, Speed, Strength & Power in Young Players.
Presenter Des Ryan (IRFU Fitness Education Manager)

Topic 2 Olympic Weight Lifting For Sport
Presenter Paudie Roche (Munster Rugby Academy & Age Grade Fitness Coach)

Topic 3 Fitness Training For Rugby
Presenter Fergal O’Callaghan (Munster Rugby Academy & Age Grade Fitness Coach)

The workshop will be both theory and practical based and aims to assist coaches in the knowledge of what is the most appropriate and practical method to develop young and old players.

Furthermore, the workshop is ideal for coaches who would like to introduce something new and challenging to their training sessions. The workshop is open to any coach from any sport and similar workshops will be run in the other three provinces.

Registration Places are limited and coaches must register with Niamh Nash ( niamh.nash@irfu.ie or 01 6473835 ) The closing Date 17/2/10 and once registered coaches will receive information and a timetable one week before the course.
