Munster Host Leinster In Final Interpro Game

The final match of Munster’s interprovincial series 2012 will take place on Sunday, 7th October at Thomond Park when the Munster U18 Club side take on their Leinster counterparts, ko 1pm.

Munster U18 Clubs, captained by No. 8 Idris Rqibi from Skibbereen RFC suffered a loss to Connacht in their opening game of the series but went on to claim an impressive 34-12 victory over Ulster last week-end in Ravenhill.

Leinster have remained undefeated in the competition to date and will be looking to secure three wins in a row on Munster’s home ground.

Speaking on the task ahead Head Coach Noel O’Meara said “we intend to take the game to Leinster by playing a positive brand of rugby and look forward to the challenge”.

“It has been our main focus throughout the interprovincial series that our players are viewed by national selectors and they perform to the best of their abilities. Our two starting props on Sunday will be underage again next year and the series has given them and all the players a wonderful opportunity to set a marker for the future”.

“We have worked hard over the last few months and all players have improved as we have progressed in the competition. The aim of the coaches throughout the campaign has been to identify players and develop them into future professional players for Munster and Ireland.”
