Munster Age-Grade Cups Preview

The race is on in the Munster Age-Grade Cups as the boy’s competitions reach Semi Final stages while the knock out stages will kick off this weekend in the girls competition.

Munster Boys U18.5 Cup
In the U18.5 cup Highfield will face Waterpark in the first Semi Final pairing.
Highfield, the Group One table toppers, punched their Semi Final ticket when they defeated Desmond Rugby 36-26.
While Waterpark, who were the leaders in Group Two, saw off stiff competition from Kinsale to take the win with a score of 21-10.
In the second Semi Final, Crosshaven-Cork Constitution lock horns with last year’s champions Bandon.
The Cork amalgamation saw out their group stages at the top of Group Three with six back-to-back wins to their name.
They then faced fellow Cork side Clonakilty in the Quarter Final, where they came away with a narrow win as the game ended 15-12.
While Bandon took the Group Four top spot before beating Killarney 33-12 to book their spot in the Semi Finals.

Munster Boys U16 Cup
In the U16 edition of the competition, Nenagh Ormond will face Cobh Pirates in the first of this week’s Semi Finals while Waterpark Black will meet Midleton.
Nenagh Ormond found themselves in joint first position in Group One with 20 points to their name before going on to defeat Ennis 12-14 to punch their ticket to the Semi Finals.
They will now face Cobh Pirates who finished the group stages in second place in Group Two. The East Cork side would then go on to beat Crosshaven-Cork Constitution 17-26 to set up their Semi Final pairing.
Waterpark Black, who topped Group Three, held Kinsale scoreless to march their way into a Semi Final.
While Midleton, who saw out the group stages in second place in Group Four, defeated fellow Cork outfit Kanturk 22-34, sending them into the second Semi Final.

Munster Girls U18.5 Cup
Knock out round action gets underway this week for the Munster Girls U18.5 Cup.
Quarter Final one sees Shannon lock horns with Waterpark under lights in Coonagh.
In the second Quarter Final Ennis will meet titleholders Clonakilty while Carrick-on-Suir-Clonmel-Youghal will take on West Cork outfit Skibbereen-Bantry Bay.
In the final Quarter Final pairing Bruff will welcome Killarney-Iveragh-Killorglin-Listowel to Kilballyowen Park Saturday evening.

Munster Girls U16 Cup
Much like their U18.5 counterparts, the Munster Girls U16 Cup has also reached it’s knockout phase.
Cobh Pirates are the only team to receive a bye through to the Semi Finals.
The first Quarter Final pairing sees an all Cork pairing as Kinsale-Muskerry meet Skibbereen-Bantry Bay.
In the second pairing Dungarvan-Park will face defending champions Richmond-Scarriff while Clonakilty take on Bruff.
