Great Day For Rockwell

Rockwell booked their place in the semi final of the Bowen Shield and the final of the McCarthy Cup with victories over Ard Scoil Ris and Crescent College Comprehensive.

Rockwell must travel to Cork next Wednesday 30th November to face P.B.C. in the semi final of the Bowen Shield after their 25-0 home win over Ard Scoil Ris. Steve McMahon scored three tries for the winners and Lukas Kaminski got one. Aidan Moynihan kicked a conversion and penalty.

Crescent College Comprehensive are through to the final of the Bowen Shield after their 15-3 home win over C.B.C. in the first semi final. Greg O'Shea, JJ O'Neill and Gearoid Lyons scored tries forthe winners. Thomas Quinlan was the Cork side’s scorer with a penalty.

Both Ard Scoil Ris and Rockwell will contest the final of the McCarthy Cup after narrow one point victories.

A last minute try by Oisin Bernard gave Ard Scoil Ris a 16-15 home win over C.B.C. James Brennan scored the winners other try and Peadar Collins kicked two penalties. Michael O’Halloran replied with five penalties for the Sydney Hill College.

Rockwell had a surprise 11-10 away win over Crescent College Comprehensive in the other semi final. Blake Ryder was Rockwell’s try scorer and Bill Johnston kicked two penalties. Anson Thai replied with a try for Crescent and Cian Clifford kicked a conversion and penalty.

Bandon Grammar and Midleton College got the Avonmore Milk Schools Junior Cup under way in Bandon but the sides will have to meet again as the game finished scoreless.
