Galbally RFC Supporting Pieta House

Galbally RFC will host a fashion show on Saturday, 24th October in aid of the Pieta House ‘Mind your Buddy’ initiative.

The fashion show will take place at Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort from 7.30pm and promises to be a highly entertaining evening.

Tickets are €;15 per person and will be available at the door on the night. All proceeds will be donated to the Pieta House charity.

Pieta house is a Crisis Centre for the intervention of suicide and self-harm. This wonderful service, which is free of charge offers one to one therapy by professionally trained therapists for people who are in acute distress. It is Pieta House policy to see people immediately operating from centres in both Dublin and Limerick, whilst also having three outreach services in Finglas, Tallaght and Ballyfermot.

In the last year Pieta House have noticed an increase in suicide amongst secondary school children and while every school has a Critical Incident Format, it is believed that there is a far more effective way to prevent suicide and ‘copy cat’ suicides. This can be achieved by involving children, removing the fear and ignorance attached to suicide and turning prevention into positive action.
