Club Season gets under way

The Domestic season gets under way this weekend with the quarter final ties in the Cork and Limerick Charity Cups while the Tipperary Junior clubs kick off their season with the opening round of the Garryowen Cup.

Nenagh Ormond and Garryowen kick off the season this Friday evening when the sides meet in the Limerick Charity Cup at the Tipperary venue. The visitors will be expected to book a semi final place.

On Saturday Young Munster play Bruff at Corbally while Shannon and Thomond meet at L.I.T. The other remaining quarter final tie will see U.L Bohemian entertain Old Crescent on next Tuesday 1st September at Annacotty, kick off 6.30.

The Cork Charity Cup has two games down for decision on Saturday afternoon. David O’Mahony who has taken over the coaching duties at Clonakilty will face his former club Dolphin when the sides meet at The Vale. Old rivals Sunday’s Well meet Midleton at Musgrave Park.

On Wednesday night next at Musgrave Park Cork Constitution and Highfield meet at 6.30 in last season’s final.

There are four games down for decision in the Garryowen Cup on Sunday. Cashel will hope to get their season off to a winning start with an away win over Newport.
